Release: 02/10/2015 |

DURHAM, N.C. - Washington senior pitcher Tyler Davis was among 50 players on the Golden Spikes Award watch list released Tuesday by USA Baseball. Last season, Davis was a semifinalist for the award that recognizes the top amateur baseball player in the country.

The right-hander was 11-2 with a 1.60 ERA in 106.6 innings in 2014. He began the season as a reliever before making starts in his final 15 appearances. He was the fourth-ever UW player with 11 or more wins – the first since Tim Lincecum (12) in 2006.

Game Highlight
Tyler Davis struck out 14 batters, for a career high, facing the Oregon Ducks on 25 April 2015.

RHP Davis topped out at 88mph, and used effective velocity to keep batters off-balance. He moved the ball around the zone and had excellent command of his two-seamer and change-up.
