Chamberlain: Ambidextrous pitcher Ryan Perez looking for a second ...
Apr 15, 2017 - Former Judson pitcher Ryan Perez seeks a new team after being released by the Cleveland Indians.
Bleacher Report featured his ability to hit 95 mph with either arm.
While pitching with both arms is rare, Perez feels it does diminish velocity.
"I was throwing mostly low 90s," Perez said. "The thing that's tough is when you're switching between arms, it's hard to be consistent in that middle 90s. It's going to drop to 90-93 if you're switching.
"What's hard then is finding a rhythm, and that helps maintain your speed. "
Perez feels it's not a problem easy for teams to understand because the talent is so rare.
"Maybe only Pat Venditte would know what I mean," Perez said.
