Being ambidextrous makes Caston a threat on the diamond
by Andy Collier, The Bolivar Commercial, 26 June 2015
The ability to throw effectively with both the right and left hands can enable a baseball player to be very versatile.
Bayou Academy baseball standout Parker Caston has made great use of his ambidexterity. Caston plays third base, first base and pitcher. Caston throws right-handed when he plays third base and left-handed when he plays first base. He’ll use either hand when he pitches. He uses different gloves when he plays first and third and a six-fingered glove that he can put on either hand when he pitches.
The 17-year-old said he discovered he could throw with either arm at a young age playing a little catch in the yard.
